#1 The Title

The most obvious and misleading reference/similarity is the title of the game. Goldeneye Rogue Agent, as opposed to Goldeneye
007. At first, this game was going to be called Goldeneye 2, and people thought you would take the role of Trevelan and play
through the game seeing his story. But we now know that calling this Goldeneye 2 would be completely absurd.
#2 The Golden Eye

I you've ever seen the intro to the Goldeneye 007 movie, you must have seen the golden eye blinking in the background every
few seconds. That part of the video never served any purpose at all in the movie, but that is probably where EA got the idea
to put that concept into this game, giving the main character a golden eye. This isn't directly linked to the game Goldeneye
007, but it is still linked to it in a way. Also, that entire theme song seems alot better suited fot Goldeneye Rogue Agent.
In the theme song, she sings about a man named Goldeneye, not a satelite.
#3 Bond, James Bond

This can be seen as a reference to any 007 game. This is also a very obvious reference to the game, because James Bond (007)
was the star of Goldeneye 007. The fact that he is included in this game isn't surprising at all, and I doubt that EA actually
intended for this to be a direct reference to Goldeneye 007, but it still counts as one.
#4 Where have I heard this before?
Again this isn't a direct reference to the game Goldeneye007, but the movie. At the third part of the Hong Kong Stage, after
you download the data from the lab and head out the door, a voice is heard saying that "you are nothing more than a common
theif." Sound familiar? If you've seen the movie you should remember this line, it is what Bond says to Trevelan after
he tells him his plan for the Goldeneye Satelite. Obviously EA intended for this to be a reference to Goldeneye 007.
#5 Deja vu

Anyone who has played Goldeneye 007 should know this area, it is the Antanna Cradle, the last area in the game's story as
well as the movie. It is a multiplayer map in Goldeneye Rogue Agent renamed 'Uplink' for whatever reason. It kinda looks more
like the movie area in this game, I think the size of the cradle was somewhat exaggerated in the game Goldeneye 007.
#6 Familiar Face

Do I even have to explain this one? She is one of the main enemies in the Goldeneye 007 movie. She doesn't play that big of
a role in the Goldeneye 007 game, but you do encounter her once, where you then kill her. You see her quite a few times in
the Goldeneye Rogue Agent campaign mode, until you kill her, again... She also appears as the sole female MP skin in Rogue
Agent.
#7 MP Similarities
Rogue Agent has some similar modes to Goldeneye 007. In Goldeneye 007, you could choose from various scenarios. These were;
Normal, The Man With the Golden Gun, You Only Live Twice, The Living Daylights [Flag Tag], and License To Kill. In Rogue Agent,
the modes are pretty similar in names and purpose. The rules are; Normal, Golden Gun, You Only Live Twice, and License To
Kill. The two last ones are exactly the same as the names and rules of two scenarios in Goldeneye 007, and the only difference
about the Golden Gun mode is that it has a shorter name.
#8 The Legend Lives On...

Remember the RC-P90? Yes, of course you do, if you don't, you must not remember Goldeneye 007 either. That gun was most people's
favorite in that game, everyone wanted a piece of it in MP. Well, this game has a gun that is very similar to it, the HS-90.
The differences are small, but noticable for sure. The thing about the HS-90 in this game is that it looks more like the gun
in real life, the P-90. And I don't think it is as powerful as the RC-P90 was in Goldeneye 007.
#9 Paint Splatter
One of the easiest cheat options to acquire in Goldeneye 007 was paintball mode. This cheat enabled you to shoot balls of
paint out of your gun rather than actual bullets (or in other words, replaced the gunshot texture with random paint splatters).
It is definitely one of the cheats I liked the best in that game, because for some reason it was a great deal of fun painting
the place up in MP. If you didn't already know, paintball mode does exist in Rogue Agent as well, it's just there in a little
more hidden way. It has to be accessed by entering a sequence of buttons on the extras menu, and only works in MP. I don't
really see why it isn't actually unlockable, but it is still there, and definetly reminds me of Goldeneye 007.
#10 Returning Guest Character

Well, well. Look who came crawling back... Oddjob! Everyone's most loved hat-throwing exaggeratedly short MP character from
Goldeneye 007 (Fact: Oddjob isn't technically from Goldeneye 007, he is just an MP character, and isn't in the movie. He is
in an older bond film however). Funny, he was listed in the starting 'credits' of Goldeneye 007 as a guest character, but
he never served any other purpose than to be used as an MP skin... However, his purpose is a great deal larger in Rogue Agent,
he is part of the campaign mode, and also an MP skin once again! The good thing is that, he is a regular size in this game,
not like in Goldeneye 007 where he was waaaaay too short.
